Tasks/calendar integration

Close.io can provide a calendar feed of your Close.io tasks, which you can "subscribe" to from common calendar applications (e.g. Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple's Calendar app).

Click on the calendar icon in the top right to get the iCal feed URL:

This will open a modal with an iCal feed URL for you to copy into your calendar application. See below in this article for instructions on how to paste it into your calendar application to setup the subscription.

Which tasks will be shown in my calendar?

The calendar feed will include whatever tasks are shown on the page where you generated the feed URL. You can generate different calendar feeds for tasks assigned to different users (or all users) by changing the user filter in the top right corner of Inbox and adding the newly-generated feed URL to your calendar.

  • To get only open/incomplete tasks in your calendar feed, generate the calendar URL from the "Inbox" and "Future" sections in Close.io.
  • To get only completed tasks in your calendar feed, generate the calendar URL from the "Done" section.
  • You can generate and subscribe to multiple calendars, to see more than one set of tasks in your calendar.
  • The feed will include tasks for whichever user (e.g. yourself or All Users) that you have selected from the dropdown before clicking the calendar icon.
  • It only include "Tasks," not emails or other items from your Inbox.

How to add a calendar feed to an iPhone Calendar

Often your calendar will show up on your iPhone automatically if you have added it to your Google Calendar or iCloud Calendar via your Mac's Calendar program. However if that isn't the case for you or you want to explicitly subscribe to your Tasks from an iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the calendar feed link from the bottom of the Tasks page. Get that link onto your phone somehow (e.g. email it to yourself). On your phone, copy that link.
  2. Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Add Account
  3. Choose "Other" and then "Add Subscribed Calendar"
  4. Paste the previously-copied link and click Next.
  5. The default settings are fine so you can click "Save"

How to revoke a calendar feed's permission

  1. Copy the calendar feed link from the bottom of the Tasks page.
  2. In a browser window navigate to your Google Calendar.
  3. Click the down arrow to the right of "Other calendars" on the left.
  4. Click "Add by URL" within the menu.
  5. Paste the link copied from step 1 into the box.
  6. Click the "Add calendar" button.
