Bulk import and data migration
Close.io comes with a powerful yet simple Bulk Import tool that allows you to import leads, contacts, and other data points from a CSV file or Excel.
Note: When using this method, NO activities (calls, emails, notes) will be imported.

Import data from Salesforce and other CRM products/services
We are able to copy your data from many of the popular CRMs (Salesforce, Highrise, Capsule, PipelineDeals, Nutshell, SugarCRM, Zoho, Saleslogix, MS Dynamics, Batchbook, Base, RelateIQ, NetSuite, and more). This method allows you to copy over not only the contact information, but also Activity history, Opportunities, etc. To get started, just head over to the Bulk Import page (see the first screenshot below) and click on the "Choose Your CRM" button.
If you're currently using a CRM which is not listed above and won't let you easily export everything into a single CSV, contact us and we'll see if we can help.

Accessing the Bulk Import tool
You can access the Bulk Import tool by clicking on your account in the top right corner of Close.io (pictured below):
Once on the Bulk Import screen, you'll be able to either upload your CSV file or paste its contents into a text area (this way you don't need to convert you Excel spreadsheet to CSV). Please follow the directions onscreen to ensure that your leads are uploaded correctly.
Structuring your CSV
Structuring your data within the CSV is simple and flexible. You just need to make sure that the first row of your data is a header row (i.e. the first row is used for column names). You can assign any name to a column, but Close.io will be able to automatically detect the data type, if you use one of the headers listed below:
- url (value must start with http:// or https://)
- contact (full name of contact)
- title (job title of contact)
- email (must be a valid email address)
- phone (must be a valid phone number, and must include a '+' and country code if it's a number outside of your phone localization*)
- address (street address)
*The phone number localization for your account is determined by your IP address location when you created your Close.io account. We assume all phone numbers without a '+' and country code are numbers for your localized country. More about phone localization here.

Matching Columns To Your Data
Before your data is imported, you're able to view sample leads to make sure the data is being placed in the desired locations by matching the correct column to the desired data type:

Reverting Your Import
If you are not happy with any of your imports, you can easily revert them. Just head to the Bulk Import page and you will see all of your imports sorted by date (most recent on the top). Click on the "Revert" button and all of the imported leads will be deleted.
CRM migrations are not included in this view. Use the Bulk Delete functionality to delete leads from these migrations.
